The report provides an updated assessment of labour conditions among 475 migrant fishers in Thailand, showing both improvements and ongoing vulnerabilities in the fishing industry. While monthly wage payments and some welfare practices have improved, many workers still face unclear contracts, cash-based payments that increase debt risks, long working hours, limited rest, and weak access to grievance mechanisms.
Based on research across eight coastal provinces, the report calls for stronger enforcement, transparent wage systems, and better protection measures to ensure safer, fairer, and more accountable working conditions in Thailand’s seafood sector.
